Padres Place Marcano on 10-Day IL
Tucupita Marcano, the youngest player in Major League history, has been placed on the 10-day injured list by the San Diego Padres.
Marcano, who made his MLB debut on April 1, 2021, at the age of 19, has struggled at the plate this season, hitting just .233 with 3 home runs and 17 RBIs in 75 games for the Pirates.
The Padres have not yet announced a corresponding move, but Marcano's placement on the IL creates an opening on the roster for another player.
